I have the feeling that the Mt Fuji is somewhat always omnipresent in Japan. Even when it is like a "mirage". I once wrote an haiku about it.

I understand well what you say. Mt. Fiji certainly has something special to us. It might be said that everyone in Japan has their own image of Mt. Fuji in their mind. Your feeling, I think, could have the same thing as ours.
